George Brown has collaborated with six post-secondary universities to develop new paid work-integrated learning opportunities for graduates. This initiative “Drive AbilityOpening Doors” aims to provide students in Business, Technology, and Engineering schools with paid job placements in the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors. The program is funded by the Canadian provincial government and is set to provide over 600 job placements. Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for diploma, graduate, and postgraduate programs are as follows –

Diploma/Certificate 

• You need to be a senior secondary school graduate (Grade 12)
• A minimum of 60% aggregate in Grades 10 and 12 is required for all streams.
• A minimum of 50% aggregate in English language is required in Grade 10 and 12. 
• Applicants to the Information Technology, Construction, and Engineering programs must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in mathematics in Grades 10 and 12. 
• Applicants for all other programs must have passed English and Mathematics in Grade 12. (50% aggregate in grade 10 Mathematics for students who did not have the subject in Grade 12) 
• Minimum aggregate in Grade 12 Science, Mathematics, and English may be required for some limited programs. 

Degree Programs 

• Senior high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. 
• You must have at least five major topics in Grade 12 to graduate including English. All making an average score of 65% and nothing less than a 60% aggregate in all subjects individually. 
• In case of students who completed their Grade 12 without Mathematics, their scores from Grades 10 and 11 (or any post-secondary courses taken) may be considered if their aggregate score is a minimum of 70%. 
• For some degree programs, minimum scores in Grade 12 Science courses are also required. 

Postgraduate 

• A university or college graduate degree is required. 
• Results from a first or second-class degree are required (second-class degree results must have a minimum overall average of 55% for Business programs and a 60% aggregate for all other streams).
• Aspirants to a fashion program must have a first-class degree with a minimum of 70% aggregate. 

Note: At the time of registration for any George Brown College courses, all overseas applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Documents you need

At the time of application, international students must submit the following documents to George Brown College:

• IELTS/TOEFL/PTE 2 years from test date
• A GBC English for Academic Program (EAP) certificate (Level 8 or 9). There is no defined limitation, however if it has been more than 3 years since completion, a review may be required. 
• GBC Admissions Test certificate no later than 1 year of completion.
• Approved private language school partner Certificate of Completion from Ontario public Colleges EAP within the last 3 years.
• 2 consecutive years FT High School certificate graduated within the last 4 years in Canada or other English-speaking countries 
• Degrees/Diploma – 2+ years FT graduated within last 4 years in Canada or other English-speaking countries

Q1. How can I obtain a letter of confirmation of enrollment/verification of enrollment status (full-time, part-time)?

Answer – Domestic students can request the college authorities for a verification or confirmation of enrollment letter to get proof of full-time status. However, international students need to get in contact with the International Centre for confirmation of full-time status or an enrollment letter by visiting the Letter Request for International Students website.
